A coaching inn that has stood on Cowbridge high street since the Middle Ages, now a Grade II listed hotel with a market town on the doorstep and its own Physic Garden round the back. The Georgian Ballroom does the traditional part, high ceilings, chandeliers, the lot, while St Quentin's Suite opens through bi-fold doors onto a private courtyard, which is where the drinks reception ends up whenever the weather allows. Thirty-six bedrooms mean everyone stays put, the pub downstairs takes care of the stragglers, and the shops and cafés of Cowbridge are thirty seconds from the front door for anyone who surfaces early.
