The largest orangery in Britain, built in the 1790s to shelter an estate's citrus trees and Grade I listed ever since A long run of pale stone and tall arched glass with light pouring in end to end, which is about as good as a room gets. What surrounds it is the other half of the appeal: 850 acres of parkland with deer, lakes, formal gardens, a neo-Gothic castle and the ruins of a twelfth-century Cistercian abbey, all within a short walk of the front door. Inside there's space for 120 seated, a dance floor and a bar, and outside there's an entire country park!
